Aloe macroclada, commonly known as Vahona, is a species of aloe endemic to Madagascar. It is a succulent, perennial, tall plant, always acaule, solitary, growing only in grassy formations and where the sun is very intense. Generally, it grows mainly in the highlands of Madagascar. Aloe has been used for treatments of various ailments dating back almost 6000 years.
